First-ever DRI production for Baowu in China

Baowu achieves a historical milestone with ENERGIRON® in China's largest hydrogen-ready DRI facility

At the beginning of 2024, ENERGIRON® plant reached a key milestone for Baowu group, successfully producing its first Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) with the one-million-ton hydrogen-ready reactor (shaft furnace) situated at Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. In Guangdong Province, China. This remarkable achievement was accomplished less than two years after the signing of the contract with Baowu group for the supply and design of the DRI plant.
